E-Book Publishing

E-Book Publishing is the process of taking your completed book manuscript and converting it to the appropriate digital format so that it can be read and enjoyed on many electronic book readers including the Kindle, Nook, and iPad. Bearhead Publishing LLC offers this as an additional service to our authors.

Any author, old or new, that wants to take advantage of growing technology and trends for readers and an even more abundant avenue to sell their books.

Why would I choose this?

Any author that is serious about getting their books in the hands of as many readers as possible will want to take advantage of the new wave of E-books. Not to mention, the profit margin on E-book sales is greater than hard copies because there are no printing costs.

How do you charge?

When a publishing contract and book ordering form is signed with Bearhead Publishing, the cost of the E-book is built into the amount that they agree to pay us to produce their book. So in effect, the new author will pay half for their E-book upfront and the remainder when they approve the hard copy proof of their book.

When do I need to think about this?

If you are a new author and you are researching rolling your manuscript into the market, then you need to also start thinking E-book, since it is becoming more and more a way of life and will outsell hard copy books in the very near future. Bearhead Publishing firmly believes with the new technology, i.e. E-books, that this will open up a whole group of new readers, who normally did not read, because they thought carrying a book looked nerdy, but walking around with an E-reader looks chic.

What does the process involve?

The approved text block PDF of the new author is submitted for E-book conversion. It is then converted to E-Pub format and Kindle format.

Bearhead Publishing uploads the E-pub format to Ingram distributing, so that the file is available all over North America for distribution. Bearhead Publishing also uploads the Kindle file to Amazon so that it is available for their electronic reader.

The Author receives sales reports/royalty checks on a quarterly basis on all E-book sales generated.
