Have you ever lost a loved one with things left unsaid? Then this is the book for you. Honest, forthright, and at times a very difficult read Goble Crowe Just Deserved Better opens you to a bevy of emotions left buried deep within. The story of abuse of the worst kind, leading to self-destruction followed by years of self-realization. Simple in its format and lexicon, this novella parallels the lives of two men - father and son - at similar ages revealing the struggles they faced from childhood to manhood. River Crowe asks you to take a peek into the life of someone with secrets so dark and deep they affect every relationship thereafter, and none in a positive way. He also asks you, in his own words, to let it go. Don't let your past be a pebble in your shoe for the rest of your life.

Many people have told me they think my brother is a very interesting person, or maybe I should say, ‘Interesting Character.’ Coupled with the fact that he has a talent in the art of storytelling, as well as, great material from his true life experiences, I have asked him multiple times over many years to write down some of his experiences. He always replied that he didn’t know where to start. I even gave him a tape recorder and asked him to just start talking. Still no luck. And finally, this Christmas, I convinced him that writing about some of his adventures would be a great gift to his kids and grandkids. Somehow, that struck a chord with him, and he started “pumping” out the stories faster than I could read them.
In the following pages, you will find some of the stories he has chosen to share, ‘The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.’ Believe me, he could fill another book.
As retired nurse, I loved my work. My next love is the wonderful feeling of sharing a story with family, friends and, you, my loyal extended family. This is my passion vividly shared with warmth and gratitude. I looking forward to sharing another story with you with this book. Remember growing up, and getting lost into a great book? I hope you will relive those memories with this book you are holding – Linda Givans.
